Not my stupid ass dropping Raptor, technically an alien, on a foreign world and there's no single fucking bit about learning the language </3
The Raptor, or simply 'Raptor', was the first outsider to officially become part of the Wynthrox's group, and was amongst the brothers to witness its name being changed into the Wynthrox Knight Squadron. Despite being part of the group for over a decade, nobody quite knew where Raptor came from for the longest of time- Even Raptor himself didn't remember anything.
The Wynthrox brothers had stumbled upon Raptor all that time ago, lost in the middle of nowhere. The knight had made a poor bed out of leaves and grass for himself, and was soaked wet of the rain, trying to warm himself near a dimly-lit campfire. The brothers immediately took pity on him, but proceeded with caution. Not knowing where Raptor had come from, the two asked questions, but to no avail. Raptor, as if he were a lost puppy, wasn't able to answer any question, and shot just as many questions back at them. The only thing Raptor knew, was that he woke up there a few days prior, with his only memories being related to blood and screaming. Realising it wouldn't get anywhere, the brothers decided to bring Raptor back to their base and go from there, after they'd have freshened him up.
The questions still led to nowhere. It took some weeks for the older brother, Arzanium, to deem Raptor as truly innocent and a lost soul. From then on, both brothers agreed on giving Raptor a permanent stay at their base, that is if he wanted to. Without any other place or anything valuable to remember, Raptor gladly accepted. Over the course of a few months, Raptor became part of the Wynthrox's group without issue. He became the bestest of friends with the younger brother Trine, although all three of them would go out on guild quests together and bond well. It's been like this for over a decade, and Raptor has since then witnessed the growth of the group much like the brothers. When Excalibur and Pallas quite literally crashed into the base, he's formed an unstoppable trio of best friends with the former and Trine. Things became even better when other knights started joining, and the trio of friends could have a prank war with another trio of friends.
Despite Raptor feeling without a doubt at home here, his insecurity and lack of past memories would often gnaw away at him. There have been plenty of nights when Raptor would sit on the roof of the base, staring at the moon whilst brooding about himself and his past. The only ones who'd always known about these type of nights, were the Wynthrox brothers. With the rest of the Wynthrox Squad, Raptor usually tried to distract himself and invest in wood carving. It's been a hobby of his for some years, and it's not a lie to say Raptor's genuinely enjoyed it so far. The knight likes to create wooden decorations and figures, and likes to gift some of them to his fellow squadmates. It's his one and only way of expressing himself creatively, and it's been a good outlet for him thus far.
Roughly five years ago from present day, Raptor learned about his origins. That day, three strangers, Nestor, Laszlo and Faldorn, tried to confront the knights, Raptor in particular. A fight broke out. One so devastating, the entire base nearly broke down- Some would've fallen in battle if it weren't for Faldorn frantically screaming at everyone to stop. After tense conversations including these three strangers, the Wynthrox brothers and Raptor himself, the knight had heard more than enough about the gaps in his life. Everything that was missing, had come back.
The knight's origins were apparently on on a planet elsewhere, in the KOI-087 Kepler Galaxy on planet Rathalos. Raptor was originally created as part of a clone army, meant to combat in the skies. Meant to fight with the rest of the clones against the other side, of which Nestor, Laszlo and Faldorn were a part of. The clones were meant to win, and take over the entirety of planet Rathalos. The snippets of memories with bloodshed and screaming now all made sense, and it was making Raptor sick to the stomach. Raptor was one of the lower-ranked aerial units. When he was bleeding out on the battlefield, nearly surviving his last blow, he was taken back to base and quite literally dumped elsewhere. That elsewhere was a wormhole, and Raptor ended up on the planet where the Wynthrox brothers lived.. Stranded and lost somewhere completely unknown to him back then.
After the knights' base had been rebuilt with the help of the three war veterans, the squad was left alone by them and the two groups were on neutral grounds. Despite that, Raptor knew that Nestor and Laszlo in particular hated his guts, and it was back at square one for the knight. Raptor would start to struggle more with his self-image again, having plenty of brooding nights a week. He became restless, while sleep-deprived at the same time, while his past was just eating away at him. How could he justify being a good person, if he was quite literally made to do evil?
It took Raptor several months to become less insecure about himself again. The knight still needed his brooding nights every now and then, which was usually once to thrice a month. It was still a vast improvement from the lowest dip the knight had taken, but Raptor simply wished it was never a roadblock to begin with. While the knight was still efficient with his skills out questing with the others, sometimes he needed some alone time to sit down and just think. Perhaps one day Raptor will feel fully free from his origins, realising that he in fact, has done only good ever since his arrival on planet Apollo.
Raptor got to truly grow as a person when he and plenty of others found themselves in the End Of Dawn. Stuck with allies and enemies alike, Raptor was forced to face Nestor, Laszlo and Faldorn again. Initially tense around another 24/7, the three strangers eventually got along with the Knight Squad, including Raptor. The knight felt like he could stop walking on eggshells around everybody and keep doing his duty with a clear mind. Often during his primary task, scouting, Raptor would think to himself. As much as the knight needed his alone time, he couldn't afford it to leave everyone. Thus, the knight tried to squeeze out his time as much as possible, which slowly drove Raptor a bit insane as the End Of Dawn kept going.
When Arzanium got brutally murdered by a ginormous demon, Raptor felt a type of dread he hadn't felt in a long time. It was the true fear of losing everything he knew and cared about. The knight nearly gave up on the journey himself, and if it weren't for Trine slapping some sense into him, Raptor easily would've been the next victim to fall in battle. To Raptor, it simply was to win or to lose. And in the case their side lost, then what else would there be to live for?
It was a hard-fought and long battle, but eventually the mortals won against the demons in their chaotic apocalypse. Fallen allies revived and worthy rewards given by the Overseers of the universe, Raptor didn't really want anything to praise himself with. The knight was simply overjoyed everyone turned out fine, and all he wanted to do was to go home.
The End Of Dawn proved to be a long and exhaustive chain of events for Raptor, and in order to move on from it he temporarily picked up meditation on recommendation from Arzanium. The knight wished to finally be truly alone once again, and commit to his meditating whilst simultaneously brooding to find his peace. Whilst Arzanium had decided to resign and focus on his family, Raptor decided to bounce back after no questing for a few weeks. The knight learned that his three enemies, now practically four with 4STR0N4UT accompanying them, had become allies to the Knight Squad. The agreement was to team up when the need called for it, and there was officially peace between the two groups.
Somewhat becoming friends besides allies with these four extraterrestrial warriors, proved to be another way of healing for Raptor. There was a lot of damage to be repaired, Raptor knew, and he was glad he was making progress thanks to his own and others' efforts. The longer he continued, the more it hit him he wasn't doing bad, despite the reason he came to be. It was fully realised on a calm, but cool evening when everyone had been celebrating the defeat of a dragon. All teaming up earlier that day, the victory was well worth a good few drinks. Albeit drunk and about to fall of a table, Raptor hiccuped about being an idiot for not seeing himself in the light he was put in by his friends. Then he crashed, and was tucked in for a good night's sleep. Luckily for Raptor, he remembered that night as clear as day, and from then on the knight felt as sure as ever about himself. Raptor truly knew he loved being part of the Knight Squad and that he never wanted to do anything in his life but good. Even if he was literally created to fulfill another destiny, Raptor had plenty the capability to overpass that and be his own person. And for that, he was and would be eternally grateful.
