Felmyst

Initially Felmyst was a half-demon and simply just petty ass rivals with Vsivaci. Like a nerd and jock in some high school musical movie. LAAAAAAAAME. UP THE DRAMA & STAKES, BABY!

— the half-demon trying to prove himself —

Felmyst has known for his entire life he's half a demon, half a mortal. He doesn't know anything about his origins or how he was even born to begin with. He was born into a household of a single mother, knowing from a young age he was born from an 'accident'. Despite not being wanted, Felmyst's mortal mother tried to love and care for him as much as she could a half demonic child, which wasn't easy. Felmyst's demonic powers were uncontrollable as a child, resulting in nights of ghosts or demons haunting his household, unintentional demonic mind control of mortals and sleep-walking while speaking gibberish in a demonic language. There have been plenty of times that Felmyst tried to run away, thinking it'd be an easier life for both him and his mother. It simply resulted in a tired mother taking care of a restless child. Felmyst ended up having to take education at home, to prevent him accidentally harming anyone in a public setting.

For years during his childhood, Felmyst pleaded his mother to seek out someone who could either rid him of his powers or someone who would mentor him to control it. It wasn't easy, but when Felmyst was nine years old help finally came. Felmyst's mentor, Senthyril, was a grand wizard specialising in dark magic, who'd teach him how to seek harmony and control his demonic powers. The long road of wielding magic began, and week upon week Felmyst would be practicing with the wizard in the comfort of his own garden. All things seemed to go well for a while, until disaster struck nearly two years later.

Despite improving his ability to control his magic, Felmyst still had the occasional power outburst, usually causing absolute mayhem in the process. One night it got so bad, the house he lived in was set on fire. The then-11-year-old tried desperately to save his mother, but once he grabbed her by the wrist to drag her out of the flames, a curse was inflicted upon her and she screamed in complete agony. Flames started to eat Felmyst's mortal mother from inside out, causing her a slow and painful death, all while Felmyst had to witness this with his own two eyes before him.

Felmyst never properly moved on from his mother's death. To this day he still believes it's his fault, even if his mentor says otherwise. After the incident, Felmyst was taken under wing of his mentor, and moved to a different town. Felmyst became even more of a shut-in and only ever left the house to go practice with the wizard, who he regarded by then as an aunt figure. Power outbursts still happened, although Felmyst was able to control them more and more with practice. It was when he turned into an adult, he was able to fully control his demonic magic and outbursts.

Soon after he became independent, Felmyst got himself an armour set made and joined the local guild to help the good, although hesitantly. Part of him joined, because he still feels immensely guilty of who he is, and partly because he wants to believe that he could do good no matter what. The new recruit would soon prove himself to be skillful at fighting and fulfilling his taken quests, making him gain ranks rather quickly compared to your average guild member. Felmyst quickly gained popularity in his guild, with women and men alike flocking after him for his mysterious demeanour. While the attention does somewhat give Felmyst the confidence he'd lacked his entire life, he doesn't really enjoy it.

The knight has a rivalry going on with one of the other well-known guild members, Vsivaci. Felmyst has picked up on Vsivaci being half divine with his powers, whilst Vsivaci has picked up the same on him being half demon. For that reason, he often gets snarky remarks from the half divine, asking questions as to why Felmyst is part of the guild. Is it for the attention? The fame? To feed off people's love to stay alive, because you're a demon? It doesn't make Felmyst feel good, and in the end he plainly wishes he truly could believe he could do good, despite being half demon.

— END OF DAWN ARC —

Felmyst begrudgingly has to join forces together with Vsivaci during the End Of Dawn. The two find themselves without the presence of anyone else on a strange planet, and the only way out seems to be teamwork. Eventually they find the base that's been set up by the Wynthrox Squad, finally having shelter after roaming around for nearly a week. Whilst still bickering with one another, the two knights eventually realise they work better than thought. Felmyst manages to convince Vsivaci that he's a true good person at heart, despite his roots. However, Felmyst doesn't manage to convince himself in time.

When the tides turn, and one of their own forces, Torvaldus, joins hands with the enemy, it turns into a race to the finish. Having to collect three artifacts in order to hopefully get the hell off this planet, Felmyst ends up confronting Torvaldus for the second artifact. It is a demon knight versus another demon knight, and the fight quickly turns bloody and brutal. Torvaldus wins by a small margin, getting a successful hit at Felmyst, ending up killing him.

It isn't until the overlords of the universe put an end to it all, that Felmyst's soul is back in the plane of the living. Given a choice to return to life or remain dead, Felmyst eventually decides it is for the better to stay a ghost in the spirit realm. The knight manages to say his goodbyes to his allies before truly going. Vsivaci admits to him that Felmyst managed to change his mind, and tells him that he truly believes he's a good guy. For the first time, Felmyst actually takes the compliment and thanks him. Back on planet Apollo, Felmyst shares goodbyes with his only guild friend Ōkami and his mentor Senthyril. The last two people he bid farewell to, witnessed Felmyst turning into a ghost and ascending into the upper plane.

Whilst Felmyst could've found peace staying alive, the knight decided not to for a good reason. In the spirit realm, Felmyst reunited with his mother, finally being able to let himself breathe and truly be at peace.
