It's not the worst. I just prefer to write bios more in short story-ish form now, rather than 'he did y... then he did z... and then he died'. Also, Arzanium originally lived, and I thought to myself 'what's the point of multigalactical near-universe-ending events if no one important actually dies or can just be revived'. Revoke that life, baby!
Arzanium Wynthrox was the first of two sons to be born into a family living a simple life. The Wynthrox's parents were mere farmers, and from a young age Arzanium had always dreamed of doing more than plucking potatoes out of the ground. Their dad always pushed for Arzanium to do hard work, even when little brother Trine was born. Life got somewhat easier once their uncle Achilles became the hand of the then-ruling king, and Arzanium finally had a real role model to look up to.
For days upon end while growing up, Arzanium would play and train with swords, often showing off his 'powerful sword skills' to his younger brother. Despite not seeing their uncle often, his success would slowly seep into the lives of the Wynthrox brothers and their parents. First, it started with more acquired land to farm on. Then the amount of animals increased, and soon the family would be living in a house more fool-proof against rough weather. Despite all the benefits their family got from the hand of the king, Arzanium's father did not agree with the dreams and ambitions the two brothers had. Their father found it far too risky, and would often restrict the two from going out to do 'knightly work'.
Luckily for Arzanium and his younger brother, their mother would often allow it, seeing as it made the brothers happy. The brothers would go out and help little critters, children, old ladies and the like in need. Sometimes they'd come back with rewards for their good work, and they'd use this to improve their lives at home. Arzanium became a role model to his younger brother, much like their uncle stayed a role model to Arzanium. The two brothers went through thick and thin together, becoming inseparable throughout the years.
Once Arzanium reached the age of independence, ready to move out, his younger brother wished to come with him. This was a tough time for both brothers and their parents, as this would mean both their children leaving the nest at once. However, in the end the decision was made, and the two brothers were allowed to be independent. An abandoned area with ruins of a castle would be the new home of the two Wynthroxes. With the help of their parents, uncle and some other relatives, it took roughly a year to polish up the place back to good health.. And from then on, it was just Arzanium and Trine.
The two would occasionally visit their parents from time to time, but when Arzanium learned of the work his uncle had been doing, he realised his dream. Soon he'd form a team of two with his brother, and join the Haevirndawn guild as the Wynthrox duo. The two would go on adventures, exploring the world around them and helping others in need whenever. Life was grant, and it became even better when Raptor joined roughly a year later. At this point the Wynthrox duo changed their name to the Wynthrox's Knight Squadron, or simply the Wynthrox Squad or Knight Squad, with full intent on it being cheesy. With Arzanium as their leader, the trio was an unstoppable force. It was then that they slowly started getting more known in the guild and the towns around it.
It wouldn't take long for the Wynthrox Squad to take on more difficult quests, which would involve supernatural or demonic entities and the like. One particular adventure, required for the trio to go to an enchanted mansion to rid of its plaguing ghosts and void entities. This mansion ended up being some sort of interdimensional portal hive, where ghosts and similar entities alike resided to haunt its residents. When the knights managed to repell hundreds of these beings, as Trine put it, 'The Ghosts' Boss' appeared. This entity was like no other they'd seen before, having strange space-like particles float around him as if it were a deity. Arzanium rushed in the moment he appeared, both his hands strongly gripped around his sword, and struck him-
Everything went white.
Once everyone woke up again, it was unknown how much time had passed. But, two things were certain: the mansion seemed to be cleansed for now, and a strange power hung around Arzanium's sword. Instead of his simple hard steel blade, it now had a strange obsidian, almost starry look to it, giving off a slight white glow. The next time Arzanium would strike an enemy with this sword, it'd cause an explosion, and Arzanium would disappear face off the earth.
Arzanium Wynthrox was gone for a good few months. Both Trine and Raptor lost their minds about the incident, thinking Arzanium had died and wouldn't ever make a return, leaving only his sword as his remnants. They searched high and low for any remnants of his body, but no trace of such, even as simple as ashes, was ever found.
In reality, Arzanium had been transported to a wholly different universe, floating around frozen and comatose in space. This universe was known as the Orixe Universe, where a space warrior race known as the Kraljin, did the good deed for justice. A little team of these warriors would soon stumble upon a strange, floating body of ice in the middle of space, and take said body back to their home planet. The Kraljin who'd found Arzanium, introduced themselves as Excalibur, Aether and Pallas once he awoke from his comatose state. It took a few weeks for the knight to get back on his feet again, trying to understand these strange surroundings and beings in the meantime.. Even if it was quite difficult, seeing even the mere concept of space itself would be unfathomable to someone like Arzanium. In return, the Kraljin slowly learned about Arzanium, being quite intrigued in the fact he came from another universe.
The knight got along best with Excalibur and Pallas, becoming friends with them through the time they spent together. Once Arzanium was fully healed and ready to go home, several Kraljin teamed up together in order to create a wormhole that'd connect the Orixe Universe to the one Arzanium was from. Before Arzanium would step through the wormhole, Excalibur offered for him, Pallas and Pallas' adoptive child to join Arzanium to his journey back home. The three were particularly interested in getting to know the universe Arzanium was from, and the knight was fine to agree. Truth be told, if it weren't for the two Kraljin to accompany him, Arzanium could've gone through a second frozen comatose state. As it turned out, the wormhole didn't bring the trio back to Arzanium's actual home planet, but rather an unknown galaxy somewhere within the Aether Universe.
It took approximately a month for the group to actually return to Arzanium's home planet. Excalibur and Pallas were able to pinpoint the galaxy and its rough coordinates, creating a portal after a few days of banding their powers together. The four of them, quite literally, popped out of the sky and crashed into the Wynthrox base. Trine and Raptor cried tears for hours on end, seemingly ignorant of the two strangers that accompanied Arzanium- Chanting victories about his return, thinking that he was truly dead and how they weren't even done grieving once he'd returned. The knight told the two to stop wailing like crybabies, told them he was sure they were faring well without him, and then engulfed them in a big group hug.
From then on, it took a few months for everyone to get acquaintanced with one another. Excalibur became best friends with Trine and Raptor, forming a little friend group of troublemakers. Arzanium and Pallas, on the other hand, spilled out their repulsed feelings from their spent time back in Orixe, and were soon to jump head into a commitment like true head-over-heels lovebirds. Surprisingly enough it somehow worked out, and Arzanium would soon become part of the little family between Pallas and her child Gallus.
Arzanium, while initially still often joining on guild quests along with Trine and Raptor, felt like he'd fit more joining Excalibur and Pallas' adventures. The two Kraljin loved exploring the galaxy they lived in, occasionally fighting off demons, void entities and similar. The knight had been informed on the powers of his sword by Excalibur. In Arzanium's eyes, the sword as practically as powerful as a god's, and some of that power had fused with his own as well- Making him way more powerful than he was before. Arzanium would slowly ease into adventures in space, from once a week, to now roughly two or three times a week. Whenever the Kraljin and him would return from adventures, they'd attend to their hobbies or other activities. Arzanium and Pallas often spent time together with Gallus, and it'd soon become apparent that Arzanium would spend less and less time doing guild quests and general knight's work.
As all five members of the Wynthrox Squad eased into their new situations, Arzanium would slowly realise his role as a leader would be less fit to himself.. Especially once his old best friend Guntram had joined, a few months after Pallas and Excalibur did. By the time Arzanium wanted to assign Guntram as the Wynthrox Squad's new leader, a fatal injury rendered him incapable, and Arzanium was left feeling stuck yet again. Finally, he left the role in hands of his younger brother Trine, lifting a weight off his shoulders.
The knight could now go on space adventures along with Pallas and Excalibur guilt-free, living his life to the absolute fullest. He officially got married to Pallas on their 2nd anniversary together. During all that time and even present day, Arzanium was happy to guide Trine in becoming a fully-fledged leader for what was once his squad to look after, hoping for the squad to expand evermore. Arzanium's grown proud of his brother and the group of knights that have banded together to be part of the Wynthrox Squad. While technically still being part of the close-knit group, Arzanium knows in his heart his responsibilities lie elsewhere.. But he's more than happy to look after everyone else still, after all this time.
Like everyone else of the Wynthrox Squad, Arzanium feels lost when he finds himself on an unfamiliar planet, indicating the start of the End Of Dawn. Separated from the rest of the group, Arzanium doesn't reunite with them until Nestor finds him during scouting. Once Arzanium sets foot in the base his brother and Syrinq have set up, he's surprised to see everyone working together to fulfill tasks and chores. Even more surprising, it seems folks are getting along, despite their differences and experiences. Not taking the lead on this one for once, Arzanium witnesses his younger brother slowly become more confident with his leadership abilities, much to his pride.
The knight mainly stays in the background when it comes to helping out the base, making sure everyone's morals are kept up and helping out with the chores that require multiple folks to help. However, when demons and void creatures start appearing, Arzanium doesn't hesitate for one second to be on the front line, protecting everyone he cares about. Fighting their way to get home, the road is at an end for Arzanium when their group has the final conflict with the enemy. The void cultists and Torvaldus have the upper hand with the help of an ancient centaur demon, who eradicates everything in his path without issue. Always thought of as invincible, Arzanium's body gets pierced as if it were made of paper. The loss of blood proves too much, and Arzanium gives in to it. In a fit of rage, the centaur is killed by Pallas as revenge, although it does nothing to her grief.
The time spent dead is something Arzanium doesn't recall, yet doesn't reflect fondly upon. The knight was overjoyed when his soul was summoned back by the overlords of the universe, being allowed a second attempt at life because of his actions to prevent the End Of Dawn. Accepting without a doubt, Arzanium happily reunited with his family, friends and allies, and couldn't wait to finally go back home.
Getting back to the daily routine proved to be troublesome for Arzanium. Whilst the adventures he's had were grand, the End Of Dawn had definitely taken a toll upon him. Seeing his brother and his allies be more sure than ever about their close-knit group, gave Arzanium feelings of peace, however. The knight frequented space missions less and less with Pallas and Excalibur, and around one month in completely stopped. It was at this point that Arzanium decided it was enough adventuring for him. The knight officially resigned for good this time, wanting to focus fully on his family.
Whilst still visiting the Wynthrox base from time to time, Arzanium now has different matters on his mind. Instead of space missions, it's making sure his wife, child and now newly-born twins Nafplion and Gytheio are happy. The knight has got no problem with taking care of the kids whilst Pallas and Excalibur are out on space missions, and is happy with the way things seem to be going. Still having his rank at the Haevirndawn Guild, Arzanium was accepted immediately once he was seeking to help them out again. Instead of going on jobs, however, Arzanium is now content organising quests and handing them out to young adventurers.
