— the eternal dreamer with never-ending imagination —
Legend goes, beneath a never-ending mountain within Moondawn, lies the source of vivid dreams that turn truth. An iridescent entity reflecting the light rays within waters, resting in a deep sleep, seeing visions of what is to come and to be. Existing since the dawn of moon, as old as the dimension itself, fuelling this world with all their might and magic. Their name unknown, myths call this eternal dreamer simply the Axolotl, Dreamweaver, or Afyfm.
All for you, from me.
Not a single soul within the world knew whether these tales were truth, if one was lucky enough to have heard of them in the first place. An utter enigma, this eternal dreamer had never been witnessed by anyone- Their only sign of existence derived from a consistent, strong magic pulse, emitted beneath the mountain of Nivirin- Or alternatively, their appearances within Chi's dreams, the creator of Moondawn. Believed to be the source of all magic and wackiness persistent within the realm, the matter of their existence was better left undisturbed.
For without the eternal dreamer, there would be no such thing as eyes of wonder- There would be no such thing as magic itself- There would be no such thing as floating islands and defied physics- There would be no such thing as ever-expanding space- There would be no such thing as life made from the figments of one's imagination.
Moondawn's residents were aware of their two-dimensionals, turning alive the second Chi had drawn of them, written of them, thought of them- Then was it so unfeasible to believe, new life would be born from dreams as well? The feline had always had quite the vivid imagination, after all.
At the base of Nivirin's mountain a shrine was put up, in name to the eternal dreamer. Perhaps this dreamer was the true two-dimensional image of their creator, and in similar fashion, they were revered akin to a deity. As time went on, more residents flocked to this strange mountain- It went as deep as the depths of the ocean, going up as high as the stars in the skies- Inbetween, the mountain was segmented by floating discs of water, as if it had levels to its environment- There was a fitting place for any critter and citizen to live, thus Nivirin was dubbed the first kingdom of the animals.
Beneath the domain, the eternal dreamer would be their guide.
Nothing tied the entity to Moondawn, except by sheer magic. No plea or prayer would be heard, for the eternal dreamer's nature, or rather imagination, was vivid and unpredictable. With this realm already so attuned to the weird, it was the exceptional and the unimaginable believed as cause by the Dreamweaver.
It was said to be Afyfm's doing when the skies turned all colours of the rainbow, a colourful veil sprinkling over the realm.
It was said to be Afyfm's doing when the world expanded its borders into the infinite, adding new pieces of world with each breath.
It was said to be Afyfm's doing when the landscape looped endlessly into itself, akin to a rollercoaster or spiral, without even a smidge of physics.
With all that wonder, however, there was bound to be chaos eventually. It wasn't natural when thunderstorms arrived that rendered hundreds homeless- It wasn't natural when dangerous aberrations appeared to consume all in their way- It wasn't natural when creations came to life without any emotion or feel tied to their psyche. Something was off, though no one knew quite what.
Little did one know, the visions of the eternal dreamer perturbed, and some had made place for nightmares.
From a peaceful slumber into a REM rollercoaster, the state of the Dreamweaver would luckily fluctuate rarely- For now. These rather grim oddities only occured about every few years- At least, that was its frequency at first. While Moondawn had always been a happy-go-lucky peaceful realm of perfect escapism, little holes pierced into its paradise tad by tad for reasons unknown- Hushed words talked of their creator's mental state possibly affecting it- Other words talked of the unreality being revealed- And more words talked of the infinite expanse needing a limit, after all.
It was noticed by a select few individuals at first, Chi included.
When the frequency increased to once a year, few wondered whether an annual doomsday needed a pin on the calendar.
When the frequency increased to once a few months, more folk questioned and word spread like a wildfire.
When the frequency increased to once a month, a feeling of panic slid its way into peace.
While nothing was world-ending quite yet, these increasing oddities of normalcy, to put it lightly, were unnerving. Barricades, safeties and other preventions put in particular places of interest already, an investigation begun. It would lead them into the dark, the mystery, the unknown- The other side of the coin that was Moondawn, a polar opposite. What would be found, no one knew- Though they could only hope for the best, for this realm had been nothing but a bright light in the sky to anyone living it.
Even if the unknown revealed the eclipse, the blood moon, the dark side of it all- Moondawn and its residents would not falter in keeping its light on.

Beneath all that lives, the eternal dreamer opens an eye for the first time in forever.
i'll do it later...
